The multiplayer mode of Halo 5 has the best player retention of any Halo game other than Halo 3, and i ” is constantly striving to balance ping, ability to match, time to match, and skill balance”. Matchmaking improvements for Halo 5: Guardians were announced a few days ago on the official Halo waypoint community blog. With this in mind, the services and multiplayer teams here at Industries have been hard at work at improving and fine tuning the Halo 5 matchmaking experience. Work continues on geographic, infrastructure and code-based solutions. Following some criticism regarding ping times, skill balance, and matchmaking time, Holmes replied that i ” constantly striving to balance ping, ability to match, time to match, skill balance and hopper population”. The studio head adds that, the studio is aware of the fact that issues regarding matchmaking haven’t been solved, and they are “continually working to improve”. According Holmes, Halo 5: Guardians’ multiplayer mode has the ” best player retention of any Halo game, other than Halo 3″. I’m not downplaying the importance of matchmaking speed, but getting stomped can be really discouraging. It can lead to players dropping out of the game permanently, especially if it happens early in their experience based on data. So to some degree the close matches seem to be working.
Games Inbox: Dark Souls clones, Destiny defence force, and Sunset Overdrive
Even as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gained a firm foothold in the industry, lacked the masterpiece titles that gamers have grown accustomed to in previous years. Don’t get us wrong — there were plenty of great games to play on our new- and old-gen systems alike, but every title seemed to have its drawbacks and detractors, making this year’s Top 50 list harder than ever to put together. While you can check out our full Top 50 list in the latest issue of Game Informer , we’re giving you a peek at the best of the best.
Someone made a good point in another thread: If there is no anti-cheat, co-op would be boring as ♥♥♥♥. Now, I’m not saying it’s impossible.
Apart from the so-called speed of the matchmaking, I don’t see anything special here at all to be honest. They are kinda saying, “We have finally recreated Activision Blizzards World of Warcraft technology for use with our game. I understand that Microsoft want to promote the, so-far, mythical benefits of their Cloud technology but Insomniac saying it helps match-making seems like they are really scraping the barrel.
Drivatars and matchmaking is all well and good but until MS can demonstrate significant benefits to games that are impossible on other formats, then all this talk of cloud and Azure technology becomes nothing more than PR spiel. Mr Pumblechook I think the point of all this PR is to get developers on board to use Azure instead of using peer-to-peer or expensive dedicated servers.
Cloud services allows developers to outsource their hardware needs into the cloud. They don’t have to maintain the hardware or worry about buying to little or to much hardware because it’s all dynamic in the cloud. I mean every dev “oversells” What they are doing but why does that always seem to upset folks when it pertains to X1 exclusives? I’ll tell you what the naysayers who btw have never made a game can TALK all they want but Forza5’s Driveatar system is pretty goddamm slick, very underrated for what’s going on with that game and the experience you get with that type of AI has been very satisfying.
It was a launch game too, so I think Micro should just lead the way despite the detractors; I so wish that X1 was more about being less like ps4, ps4 is great for going with what sony wants to do, I want Xbox to be great for NOT following the status qou or ps, think about micros initial push in the early days for console online gaming and how it has proven to be good for gaming. I hope sony takes off with VR or whatever and I hope micro takes off in a completely different direction with new online gaming tech perhaps, whatever???
I mean what’s the harm in continuing to explore new tech and ideas. I think a lot of the benefits of the cloud will be more apparent over the years, as developers find more ways to use it. Cloud computing in a gaming environment is still cutting edge research technology.

Subtotal: items in your cart. Its innovative technology is rivalled only by its iconic design. Sharp corners and clean lines make for a sleek, modern console that complements any decor. Xbox One was designed from the ground up to be the centrepiece of every living room.
We really need the full pool for q times, matchmaking, and everyone should have the same experience Gears of War, Halo, Sunset Overdrive.

Is it like all these ‘achievements’ that most games have? I play the game for the content not achievements if thats what ‘Feats’ really are The last time I was motivated to get a few of these empty medals is when I played sunset overdrive – now that was FUN!
Xbox One Games news: Gears of War 4K update, Quantum Break 2 and Sunset Overdrive to PS4?
My longlist for the worst games is actually longer than the one for the best games, which just about sums it up, so without further ado — let the countdown commence. FIFA is the devil. The players question your button presses before executing them, and when running they do so as if their pockets were filled with all the money EA tricked out of you. I had predicted that AW would save the franchise, and I thought I was proven right after an hour of play time, but then it all came crashing down.
Sunset Overdrive is the latest Xbox exclusive to invade Rocket League Announced on the Insomniac blog, Sunset Overdrive is coming to Rocket freeze and Error 71 matchmaking issues fixed, audio drop-outs reduced.
AHEAD of the Xbox One X’s release, Microsoft is seeing a mix of good and bad news across the gaming industry – and here’s the only weekly roundup you need. The Xbox One X is soon due to release around the world – marking the first time Microsoft has jumped in on the ‘mid-console cycle refresh’, following Sony’s launch of the PS4 Pro last year. Despite this mid-generation refresh, though, Microsoft hasn’t been having the best time as far as exclusive games go.
There has been a lot of cynicism around the company’s treatment of various studios and titles, and it would appear that the publisher is also struggling to keep games that were console exclusives on the platform. Sunset Overdrive – an Xbox One exclusive game – may well be getting a sequel. However, the sequel may not be exclusive to Microsoft’s console. The original game was funded by Microsoft, and it was largely assumed that any sequel to the game would be a platform exclusive, too.
However, according to a new tweet from Insomniac, it appears that the game could be coming to multiple platforms – if the developer can find a publisher for the title. If Insomniac’s tweet is to be taken at face value, it looks like Microsoft isn’t interested in publishing the game. This makes sense with Microsoft’s stance on publishing games recently – the company has famously cancelled Scalebound, and has made headlines for the lack of exclusives coming to the console compared to Sony and the PS4.
Whilst it may seem odd that the PS4 would get Sunset Overdrive 2 but not the first game, it could be a siimilar situation as seen with Respawn and Titanfall. It’s also important to note that Insomniac has habitually been a developer who has predominantly worked with Sony and PlayStation on big game releases. So the idea that they might look to Sony to help get Sunset Overdrive 2 off the ground isn’t beyond the realm of possibility.

Open-world games are by far my favorite way to spend time when I boot my computer to sit back, relax, and enjoy a few hours of entertainment. Undefined by a specific genre, these now cover a myriad of gaming concepts and have come to include a broad range of franchises and new IPs. So, what exactly led me to start getting exhausted from games I play and enjoy most often? When I was looking to buy a gaming mouse, I wanted something nice looking but very inexpensive at the same time.
Browsing through Amazon, I saw the Zelotes T80 mouse, and it caught my attention. In a news announcement made by Psyonix today, Rocket League now includes PlayStation 4 among the list of platforms you can play seamlessly between. Gamers on PSN, Xbox One, Steam and Nintendo Switch can now join in random matchmaking with or against each other, enabling even faster loading times to get into the game.
This marks a big achievement for cross-platform play, as Sony is known to tightly safeguard its platform in multiplayer gaming. Enabling Rocket League to be included in the PS Cross-Play Beta program is also a huge step towards integrating seamless multiplayer between various systems, with more games to hopefully follow in the future.
Cross-platform play in Rocket League is available across all online game modes, regardless whether you play casual and competitive. All one has to do is have the feature enabled in Gameplay options tab, but it is usually available by default. For every newcomer to the genre then, the chief concern becomes to introduce enough unique elements to set itself apart from the heavyweights.
It is otherwise impossible to compete with PUBG and Fortnite in the playing field, hence Ring of Elysium throws in a few twists to the standard battle royale formula. Whereas consoles enjoy a larger suite of titles multiple people can play at once, the case becomes much less so when looking at the PC platform.

This November has been a huge month for game releases across all system and with them come a lot of hype and gripe. With most of these games have come a handful of problems upon release, some of which I have experienced first-hand, which leads me to wonder about how accountable the game developer is and what should be done about these problems. One problem that seems to occur often in multiplayer games is a problem with servers or matchmaking. Currently the multiplayer for Halo: The Master Chief Collection is down due to server issues with matchmaking.
Sunset Overdrive is Insomniac Games’ best effort in years, and one of the The right mix of strategy, luck, and an exceptional matchmaking.
While some reported waiting minutes to find an available game to jump in to, others were unable to partake in the multi-player at all. We also ran in to an issue during our Halo run where our campaign progress was completely reset, on top of a few game freezes here and there. Let us know in the comments.
